Thursday - flew in. Had a horrible time with trains in London but Stanstead was worth it to see the Blade runner-like tram that took me and friend to our plane's gate. (see my bad photo)
Friday - got lost and missed the walking tour. However, we were very flexible and did our Saturday plan instead. This resulted in walking down the main shopping street in East Berlin - commerical but fun and ended up at the Jewish Musem. Three hours was enough - but I would gladly go back and think more. More shopping, good meals, and general merriment.
Saturday - a six hour walking tour in 'extreme' weather conditions. Apparently Europeans are a bit wussy. While it was windy and a bit cold to walk for six+ hours - it was in no extent so bad that we should not leave the hotel (as our hotel suggested). Saw about everything on the tour. That night - traditional German food (my friend had schnitzel, I already knew I didn't like it so it was beef and root veggies for me!) and delicious German ale.
Sunday - Reichstag, Berlin Zoo to see Knut! and a bit of wandering as the shops are not open at all on Sundays in Germany.
Now for the specific details.
