a little bit of wee scotland

Oh, Scotland is beautiful. I was expecting to be a bit underwhelmed for the fact that I'm used to Canada for views (therefore a bit spoilt!). So when people take me places that say it shows wonderful wildlife and amazing mountains, you see a weasel and a hill that you could climb in less than an hour. However, the highlands are nothing like that. It's incomparable - and stunning even in a blizzard/sun storm. That's right - the weather over the four days was snow storm, rain, snow storm, brilliant sunshine, snow storm, wind that could push you over, sun and snowstorm. That was just over about 3 hours too! I spent four days in the highlands - hunting Nessie at Loch Ness, touring a distillery, driving to Skye, walking, more walking, eating lamb, seeing highland cows - petting Shetland ponies - and constantly looking for a black sheep. I loved it there though and would highly recommend it. I'm hoping to head up to Edinburgh to see lower Scotland - and probably show it off to Liam.. (you can go rock climbing in the summer so I think I have him sold) But now I'm back, working and planning my next trip. Where should I go next??

Awesome! Going to Skye is pretty much right at the top of my list of things I want to do while I'm living here... it sounds awesome and I really want to do some highland hiking. Maybe when it's slightly warmer, though... it was snowing a little in Edinburgh this weekend too.

Cool!
