I'm starting to make the switch to looking onto BBC rather than CBC in the morning. It's been six months and the last week it was a concious effort because I felt like I knew nothing when colleagues discussed recent happenings and all I knew was recent Ottawa decisions or the RBC buy-out of a private investment firm.Previously, I didn't like the site. I found the CBC easier to navigate - and the arts section is lovely.
However, today was the first day on their new improved site. And I have to say I love it. The ability to customise my page to have the news information I like to know first at the top (and any other chunked info like sports , weather) - the ability to chose my colours - and the localized news that I can add on made it feel like it was my personal site. I have to say - this is definitely going to help my switch to be the BBC cheerleader. I was already a cheerleader for the documentries or jane austen movies. I think this will be a far easier sell to the majority of people.
