I've never knew my love for bangers and mash until I crossed the pond. I've had the sausage with cabbage, and one of my favourite dishes is hot Italian sausage with pepper and penne but the combo of sausage and mashed potatoes was not a regular dish in my house. Now, I can't get enough. It's also one of the cheapest meals you can purchase at the local grocery store. Salad, potato, milk, 4 sausages, butter and some veggies all cost in total under 5 quid. It's key in such an expensive city to have a common cheap and filling meal. But when I want to splurge I head over to S & M in Spitalfields market. Not only a clever name, but the cute cafe offers such prompt service and huge sausages. They value customer service and a place where I get friendly people and solid comfort food is so rare in London that I hate leaving it every time.
