Canterbury tales

So I've been wanting to head down to Canterbury for about a year now. However everytime I go to plan the day trip - another just pops up! However, after so many false starts L2 planned our day trip to probably one of the coolest little towns yet. It's an hour and a half outside of the city (almost straight south east) and really it's probably one of the biggest 'little' towns in Kent. Obviously highlights included the world heritage sight - the Canterbury Cathedral ... but a suprising bonus was the modern study centre - not much glass but still modern and fit well in its surroundings. The church paid their architect well, or the architect understood the church. Most of the city is all pedestrian cobblestoned streets - pretty and relatively calm!

The only issue was the larger influx of American tourists - thankfully we barely heard their accents in the cathedral so I could forget how much this is a 'destination' in England!

We forgot the memory card for the camera so this image will have to do! Image via
