With the last of the snow disappearing from the common, this weekend proved to be fabolously lazy. After the weird week, L2 and I just sat back with a movie - Persepolis - a fantastic animated/graphic film about a little girl growing up and in and out of Iran. I've linked for a better description but it was moving and suprisingly realistic as there were no 'people'.
Saturday we met our prospective landlord who was a french delight. L2 picked up on her accent right away and they seemed to hit it off. I can't wait until all the references checked, employment says woohoo and the papers finally get signed. I'll finally get super excited and not just super stoked and stressed at the same time. We then went up to a Michelin Guide recommended restaurant in the North End. The deals on restaurants are fabulous and we got three courses, service and wine for less than £20 a piece.
Sunday proved lazier until we took off to Wimbledon to watch Slumdog Millionaire. The toast of the English movie critics - Sal, L2 and I thought it would be best to see what it was all about. It was a fantastic movie, moving, dark, humourous and beautifully shot - but I do wonder sometimes what makes a 'best picture' before anything else.
