the official drink of the summer

Say goodbye to Sangria. In England - it's all about the Pimms! Delicious lemonade with a bit of a kick. I'm not sure if you can get Pimms in North America, or sparkling lemonade and ginger beer, but I'll find it when I move back.

Try it at home and it'll be your official summer drink too!

Ingredients
  • Pimms
  • lemonade
  • ice
  • fresh mint leaves
  • lemons, sliced
  • cucumber, sliced
  • ginger beer
  • strawberries, to garnish

Method1. Pour the Pimms and lemonade over ice in a Boston shaker.2. Add ginger beer and ½ strawberry.3. Add some mint leaves, lemon and cucumber slices to taste.4. Serve in a wide brimmed glass or massive jug. 5. Remember it has alcohol. Pimms is a liqueur.

This is my official drink! I have been converting Vancouverites to the Pimm's ever since I was introduced when Jamie was living over there.

When in a rush, Pimm's and ginger ale with cucumber is a quick and tasty alternative to the more labour intensive version.

Oh and yes, you can get it in Vancouver. It is found in the gin aisle. But, if you are coming back to Van best bet is to buy it in Heathrow. I got two bottles for 15 pounds (here it is $23 CAD).

Now I know what I'm bringing to leave at your house at Christmas!

Good to know about the ginger ale. I still find the process less cumbursome than making sangria.
